 PRELUDE

 THOUGHT FOR MEDITATION
"But someone will say, 'You have faith and I have
works.'  Show me your faith apart from your works, and
I by my works, will show you my faith."      James 2:18
"The potential to treat not-yet-Christians as potential
customers who need to be sold an eternal-life insurance
policy is strong in our market driven culture."
                                                               Steve Sjogren
*CALL TO WORSHIP         Psalm 15, New Century Version
One:  Lord, who may enter your Holy Tent?
Who may live on your holy mountain?
All:    Only those who are innocent and who do
             what is right
One:  Such people speak the truth from their hearts and
do not tell lies about others
All:    They do no wrong to their neighbors and do
             not gossip.
One:  They do not respect hateful people but honor
            those who honor the Lord,
All:    They keep their promises to their neighbors,
             even when it hurts.
One:  "They do not charge interest on money they lend
and do not take money to hurt innocent people.
All:    Whoever does all these things will never be
            destroyed.

  Prayer:
Silent confession for the ways we have failed to
         witness well for our faith.
     Quietly receive forgiveness.
Verbal response:  We have failed you, many times,
Savior. Help us to be more obedient and more
         aware of our actions, Lord.

(Please place completed Gold Card in the offering plate)

Offertory Thought:   Let us not forget that the bounty
we enjoy is only loaned to us for a little while, to be
managed to the glory of God.  Every generous act of
giving is prompted by God's own generosity towards
us. We are invited to return the first fruits of our
labors, that through the outreach of our church, God
may accomplish much good for those who most need
to know that someone cares. "              (Lavon Byler)
