CHRISTMAS HYMN SING WELCOME (Please complete your Gold Welcome Card at this time so it is ready to place in the offering plate later.) PRELUDE Advent expressed that sense of hope, of anticipation, of knowing that God has worked in history, and will continue to work in history. If Advent is a time to celebrate our faith and hope, it is also a time to once again believe. *INVITATION TO WORSHIP: One: Advent is here. It is a time to get ready for Jesus to be born into our hearts, our homes, and our world. All: But, how do we get ready? One: Isaiah said, "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, so that we will learn God's ways." All: God's ways are loving ways, helpful ways, peaceful ways. One: Are we willing to get ready for Jesus? All: Yes! We want to learn the ways of God and to walk in the hope of the coming of the Lord. PRAYER: Dear God, as we begin today to think about the birth of Jesus and all that it meant to Mary and Joseph, the Shepherds, and the Wise Men, help us to remember what it means to each and everyone of us sitting in this church today. We have gathered in your name to worship and praise you. Open our minds, our hearts, and our souls to not only receive your words, but to understand them. In the name of Jesus, AMEN. CHORAL INVITATION TO THE ADVENT WREATH LIGHTING ADVENT READING AND LIGHTING OF THE CANDLES *HYMN: "It Came Upon A Midnight Clear" 195 STORY FOR CHILDREN & JUNIOR HIGHS SHARING OF THE COMMUNITY Announcements Concerns Joys & Praises God's People in Prayer SPECIAL MUSIC: "He Is The Light That Shines" Choir Words & Music by Ruth Elaine Schram SHARING OUR TITHES & OFFERINGS: When the hour for humanity was at its darkest, "God so loved the world, that he gave…" His love became a gift. Giving is what love is. We can't say we have love if we are not giving. God didn't give one of a million angels, He gave His best- His only son, And He gave for a purpose - "that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16 (Place your offerings and gold attendance cards in the offering plates.) Offertory *Doxology *Prayer (In Unison) Thank you, God, for your many blessings and gifts that you have given to us. Today is our turn to give back to you. Use us as a blessing to others - generously sharing what we have been given. Amen. *HYMN: "O Come, O Come, Immanuel" Vs.1-4 172 SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 64 MESSAGE: "All I Want For Christmas is Hope!"
