Thanks to Meghan Williams, Nelson Steffy, Kyle Henry, Debbie Meenan, Robyn Wampler, the Choir, the Pianists, Mary Miller & Carolyn Riley, and the Organist, Nancy Stuck who are sharing their talents with us tonight. Soloists are Mike Strickler, Jeanne Bobenage, and Linda Young. Drama participants are Ike Tritt (Simeon) and Carolyn Riley (Anna). Thanks above all for God in love reveals his earthly presence in which we can live. Merry Christmas! Our Advent Offering will go to the GLOBAL MISSION FUND of the Church of the Brethren to help relieve the aspects of drought and famine in the world. Tomorrow Morning - No Sunday School. Worship will be informal…less than 45 minutes beginning at 10:15am. Let us remember with our time the one who comes to offer us time and eternity. The Nursery for children up to age 4 will be available with Pearl Ditmer in attendance. POSTLUDE & HANDSHAKES ALL AROUND ANNOUNCEMENTS A BAG FOR RECYCLING YOUR BULLETINS is sitting near the water fountain. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PLACE AN ORDER FOR Roses for Christmas Day, please add your name to the Sign up List on the Hall Bulletin Board, and write how many. Cost is $24 a dozen. A CHRISTMAS WORSHIP FOR people and their pets will be held at the Carothers’ Barn TODAY, December 18, at 3pm. Bring a chair as no chairs are being provided. Bring food or kitty litter to donate to an animal shelter. IN THE EVENING AT 6:00PM we will be caroling with Hot Chocolate and Cookies following. Participants are asked to bring along a plate of cookies to eat with the hot chocolate. ON TUESDAY, DEC. 20 THE CARLISLE AREA RELIGIOUS COUNCIL will be packing cookies for about 400 inmates and staff of the Cumberland County Prison. Your help with sharing cookies would be GREATLY appreciated. If you would like to help the council pack the cookies, you are welcome to join us-at 6:30pm. FOR THOSE PLANNING AHEAD, the Christmas Eve Service, December 24th will have candlelighting service following the cantata /drama presented by our choir, called “Hope Has Hands.” On Christmas Day, Sunday, December 25th, there will be no Sunday School. There will be a short informal worship service at 10:15am with stories and carols. Remember, this is Christ’s Birthday celebration and all are invited to attend. On Christmas Eve, we will be receiving an offering to feed the hungry in the Horn of Africa, which includes Ethiopia, Somalia, and Kenya. Over 13.3 million people are affected by the worst water shortage in 60 years. Please read the article on page 13 of The December Messenger. OFFERING ENVELOPES for 2012 are available from the ushers. If you do not currently use offering envelopes, but would like to start, please contact Robyn Wampler. DECEMBER 30, THE YOUTH WILL GO BOWLING AT MIDWAY. Stay tuned for the time and any other information. PASTORS JIM & MARLA ABE will be away from December 30th until January 2nd. If you have an emergency, please call your deacon during that time.
