WELCOME

THOUGHT FOR MEDITATION

First this, God created the Heavens and Earth-all you see, all

you don’t see.                                                           The Message

How we look at life helps determine how we love and live life!  In

the beginning- God!

Let There Be Light

*CALL TO CELEBRATION

One:  In the beginning when God created the heavens and the

Earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered

the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over

the face of the waters. Then God said,

ALL: “LET THERE BE LIGHT AND THERE WAS LIGHT.”

One:  And God saw that the light was good; and God separated

the light from the darkness.

ALL:  GOD CALLED THE LIGHT, DAY, AND THE DARKNESS

HE CALLED NIGHT.

UNISON:  AND THERE WAS EVENING AND THERE WAS

MORNING, THE FIRST DAY.

Offertory Thought

“In the beginning, God created….while a wind from God swept

over the face of the waters.”

And even in the middle of creation, we too, can be creative!  O

God, might your holy wind, your Holy Spirit, sweep over the

hands and hearts of our lives, that your light of love might

shine through us. Amen.

revealed his love for us…and for all time, Jesus

proclaimed…

ALL:  “IT IS THE SPIRIT THAT GIVES LIFE; THE FLESH IS

ARE SPIRIT AND LIFE.”

One:  Wonderful words of light and love.

ALL:  WONDERFUL WORDS OF LIFE!

UNISON: LET US SO LIVE. AMEN.

The Witness Commission is collecting baskets for a witness project. They should be medium sized, large enough to hold some area foods, menus, maps, etc. If you have any such baskets, please bring them to Jeanne Bobenage. By the end of March, we hope to have enough of those items to begin putting them in the baskets. The baskets will sit in the Narthex, so that if you have anybody moving into your neighborhood, a basket can be shared with them.

As a goal for this new year, would you be willing to pray for a stranger each day this year? You don’t  have to tell them unless you want to try that. Please tell Pastor Marla if you want to join her in this venture.

A new flower chart and volunteer sheet for worship leader, greeter, and flower delivery has been placed on the hall bulletin board. Please check to see if there is some way you might serve the church this quarter
