THOUGHT FOR MEDITATION
"Consider the lilies, how they neither toil nor spin, yet even
Solomon in all his glory was not clothed as one of these."

PRELUDE

*CALL TO WORSHIP
One: Today, there are troubles and sorrow in the world.
All:   Today is the day that the Lord has made.
One: Today , there are groups that struggle as enemies
against each other.
All:   Today is the day the Lord has made.
One: Today, we get overwhelmed by the challenges we face.
All:   But today is the day that the Lord has made.
One: Today, the lilies bloom, the birds sing, the sun rises
again.
All:   Today, we put our trust in God.
Today, we will worship the Lord.

SCRIPTURE                                                  Psalm 55, selected verses
L1:  Give ear to my prayer, O God; do not hide yourself
from my supplication
L2:  Attend to me, and answer me; I am troubled in my
complaint.
L1:   I am distraught by the noise of the enemy.
My heart is in anguish within me,
L2:   Fear and trembling come upon me; horror overwhelms
me. And I say,
L1:  "O that I had wings like a dove!  I would fly away and be
at rest; I would hurry to find a shelter for myself from the
raging wind and storm."
L2:   Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you;
God will never permit the righteous to be moved.
Both: Lord, I will put my trust in You!
